Jazzy Juneteenth

Never heard of Juneteenth? Neither had I until last year and it’s not all that surprising since it’s only been a federal holiday since 2021 when President Biden declared it as such. Here’s some fun and free ways that you and your kids can learn more about and celebrate this important day.

First off, what is Juneteenth? Learn the basics with this short, yet informative clip from PBS kids.

Next, settle down and enjoy some free themed read alouds on you tube:

How’s about singing along with the muppets and some Juneteenth songs?

We found these fun craft projects at the library. You can make your own party popper (check out my post New Year’s Craft Celebration for party popper assembly instructions) or color your own Juneteenth flag.

I also stumbled upon this free printable word search.

Woodridge library is offering a free Juneteenth magnet craft.

However you choose to celebrate, have a happy Juneteenth!

Cheers!

Love,

Marie
